PBO Tech brings many years of experience across software, architecture and delivery, and a real appetite for innovation. We like problems that don't fit neatly into an off-the-shelf product, and we build the whole thing: understanding the need, designing the solution, building it and putting it in front of the people who will use it.
We work closely with the people a system is for and change it as we learn from them. Every project on this site was shaped that way, by producers, radio stations, architects and community energy groups using it as it was built.
What we do
System modernisation
Bringing an older system onto the web without losing what made it work: its data, its rules and the way its users like to work. The VFX Production Tracker began as an earlier FileMaker Pro version.
Bespoke solutions
Software built around a real problem rather than a product's idea of one, from a single team's tool to a platform with many customers, like Top40Poll.
Proofs of concept
A working prototype, quickly, to test an idea with the people it's for before committing to it. Solar Street went from idea to a playable game that community groups can pilot.
Architecture and governance
Clear designs, recorded decisions and reviews sized to what's at stake, so a system can be understood, changed and handed on. The Architecture Governance Platform came out of that work.
